How to play a Major Scale Flute

THE MAJOR SCALE
The Black Dots represent covered holes. Use the left hand on the top three holes, right hand on the bottom three. Pinkies can hold on to the flute. Use padding of fingers and press firmly. Blow harder for higher sound (octave).

Major Scale Lesson Leo the FLutemaker

Under the major scale diagram below you will see HH1:This means cover half the hole of number 1

This is a half hole, or half note. Also known as a sharp or a flat. It will be found in Yankee Doodle, Happy Birthday, and Green Sleeves and the Titanic theme. Known on the lesson as HH1.

To play natural minor, start on 'RE', number 5, and go up the scale to this half note, known once again as 'HH1',
